I thought I misheard !
Just saw one of my neighbours on the stairs, we were chatting and she mentioned it was her birthday next week, 90, lovely I said any plans ? I know her family usually take her for a little holiday for her birthday so was expecting a foreign trip but she said Austria skiing. I must have misheard so I said sorry can you say that again and she grinned ear to ear yes it's skiing !She's had to get ok from her doctor or they wouldn't take her up but that's arrived and next weekend off she goes with her family for a skiing trip.
Amazing woman.
She was a civil servant all her working life but little bits she says you get the feeling it was more than paper pushing, way she moves and how she tackled a burglar five years ago make us wonder just what she was trained to do !
I was going to say hope I'm as game at 90 but I have no illusions I'll live that long, as I said an amazing woman.
So happy birthday and hope she enjoys the trip !

Good for her. Hope she has a wonderful time.My Mum’s brother was always wonderfully active when in his late 80s, but he is now 95 and losing kidney function. He used to go skiing, or do people’s gardens, and kept quite active. My Mum and their sister died relatively young.
