Ken Dodd dies at 90

Sir Ken Dodd, one of Britain's finest entertainers has passed away. He will be greatly missed.

He will, indeed, be missed, Floydy. He was a good all round entertainer and could be hilariously funny without resort to vulgarity or foul language. R.I.P.

An old trouper.
They say when he opened the fridge door and the light came on he would do eight minutes.

Up to the last. He got married on Friday to his life long partner of 40 yrs, Anne Jones. If anyone deserved a ring on her finger, I think she must have.

Sad loss.
He was a great showman.
First time I saw him was in the early 70s at The Queens, Butlins in Skeggy.
I was hooked from then on.

Re: Ken Dodd dies at 90

Don't you dare rest in peace, Ken, if there is a heaven you make sure you keep them all laughing, including god.

I am not one who goes in for getting excited about celebs, but in Doddy's case I make an exception. When our Down's Syndrome son was at school between the ages of 4/5, before I home schooled him, he won the school's Happiness Cup. I wrote to KD telling him of this as he had written and sung the song, 'Happiness'. He wrote back insisting that when he gave a show in our area we were to be his guests and come back stage when it was over. It went on until well past midnight, and was FANTASTIC. I don't think I have ever laughed so much in my life. He was wonderful with our boy and gave him two ticking sticks.

Some years later I sent Ken one of my artwork creations, which he was kind enough to say he liked.

He will be missed I don't think we will see his like again.
