Re: Doesn't The Highway Code Apply To Cyclists?
I was out today on my trusty bike, and overtook several walkers - usually by going on the road to get round if possible, or waited until it was room to pass. Most of the paths were 'shared'. As you say, if you're polite about it, you usually get a 'Hello' back. Works for me - I had a healthy 10 mile ride and upset no-one (as far as I know). As a sometimes walker myself, I know the effect a quiet cycle can have on an unsuspecting person, and try to act accordingly. It ain't rocket science!
