My grandmother used to say that I was at a 'funny age' - it didn't matter what age I was, they all seemed to be funny

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

We’re all at a funny age

Me grandmother thought I was funny
Me grandfather laughed at me too
Me mother thought I was at funny age
Me father wanted with me nought to do

Me sister thought I was just stupid
Me brother took a swipe at me too
Me mates said I was just stupid
I wondered at times what to do?

I felt funny when I started courting
Didn’t quite get the hang what to do
My girlfriend said I was peculiar
And she rushed off with a sailor from Crewe

My wife said she’d met funnier people
But as I was smart I would do
She would often get vexed
When I laughed having sex
And I yelled out ‘baru ababru’

My grandkids thought I was funny
They would watch my contortions for hours
When the wife said enough
They would scream more creampuff
And let grandad produce magic flowers

As I lay on me deathbed this summer
I began to see funny side
They were all waiting for me
Shouting come over for tea
You can now be funny for miles!

Excellent GUMBUD.

I once wrote a poem after having been invited to make it succinct & contain references to sex, mystery & religion,, this is it, I know it doesn't rhyme.

.......Oh God
I'm pregnant

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

Lovely one Gumbud. it's a long time since I heard that word being used "Vexed", my granny used to use it often, if you looked anyway sourly she's say "What's the matter with you Jimmy, are you vexed about something"

By the way what did she call the baby RJ?

MATEs

Once upon a time, there were five mates
Knocking doors running, and scaling gates
One mate pushed the Laff too far, fell foul of the law
Then there were four
Four lads out for a night on the town
Inhibitions tamed by Newcastle Brown
In a moment of passion, and forgetting his Johnny
One lad rewarded with a baby so bonnie
Three lads now, who would be next
None would talk, but all were vexed
One took a substance, Consumed in such abundance
Two lads left, feeling bereft
Two lads a gang no longer constitute
Circumstance and time creates social destitutes
One says to the other
“No point being Tarried”
Lets find a Bird each
May aswell get Married.

Brilliant Spitty.
I often wonder what happened to some of my old mates, scattered to the four corners of the Earth, I got married first then they all fell one by one, even the toughest of the lot of them married an ex nun from New Zealand, she made a nice little lamb out of him eventually.

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

He addressed all the men in the great hall
The hall of RJ’s best hung poems
I thank all you guys for being so wise
And for pulling the wool over all!

You’ve lead us on paths
Up the gardens of crafts
Beguiled all our minds and enthralled
Your have poured out your sins
And stood in poet skins
What more could you do for us all?

So we raise all our glasses and cheer you
May you rain down your words evermore
Life would be poorer without you
Etc etc and more!
