LooneyLabour backhanders

This is a nice little earner, run a 10 man union and earn £165000.
Ian Lavery is a coming power in the land, Jeremy Corbyn's general election joint co-ordinator and chairman of the Labour Party. Each memberin this branch contributed unknowingly I suspect £16500 towards each towards Ian’s house...nice...Champagne Socialism at its best

From the BBC Top stories, We have learned this from the trade union regulator which has now released a report into Mr Lavery's actions as general secretary of the NUM Northumberland Area.

Of course Jeremy denies any corruption, but then he would wouldn’t he?

That's a cheap house at £165,000. My rented two bed bungalow sold, to a new landlord, recently for more than that.

Re: LooneyLabour backhanders

Labour Party Chairman Ian Lavery Kept £165k From 10-Member Trade Union.....
......It Emerges The Northumberland Provident and Benevolent fund - a pot of money for sick miners - lent Lavery £72,500 to buy a house in 1994, a loan which, it emerged in 2016, was forgiven 13 years later
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entr...b0df10767bf4fa

The worst part of all this for me is that the money 'lent' to Lavery in 1994 (and that was a lot of money at that time)and it seems never repaid was taken from the 'Provident and Benevolent fund' which was intended to support sick miners and the widows and children of miners.

That is what I dislike so much about the Labour left, they preach equality and pretend to support the 'have nots' while all the time making sure they grab as much as they can for themselves...

Well I'll say it never ceases to surprise me the corruption in all parties, the difference between labour and tories is tories do it openly labour tend to hide it.

Neither can be exactly proud of the people doing it.

Personally I'd sack anyone that did it but if we did that both benches would be empty. And all other places too

In 1995 the average house price outside London was around £50,000, it is now over £200,000

£165,000 would a purchased quite a house then far better than any miner could afford.

That’s Labour for you, live rich but vote left. They are all capatilists at heart or maybe just greedy.

Wow having visions of Jimmy Hoffa here, Union leader that used membership funds as he pleased, thought it was his money, went to Prison and got out, Then disappeared off the Face of the Earth. I think the FBI is still looking for him, not sure. He was a crook and got caught. Evidently he made someone Mad.

I think stones and glass houses would seem relevant here:
