A Grand Day out.

We started by trundling across the country beore stopping at various way points for food and drink. Way points included the only shop in Chewton Mendip for a drink, The Bath Soft Cheese shop to buy cheese would you believe, and luncheon at the Upton Cheney Chilli Farm.

This was Dundry slopes where we stopped for a drink and leg stretch, just outside Bristol.

Panoramic view.

Looking towards Chew Valley Lake.

Home from their holidays.

It was a bit of a hazy day, but the "line of works" could easily be made out. This is one of the main water feeds from the surrounding lakes to the city.

This green and pleasant land.

Mother and child.

Getting a suntan.

Cooling off.

So tired.

Herriot's Pool, panoramic views.

The Pool outlet to Chew Valley Lake.

The causeway complete with ice cream van, Family Fruity Mother Ship, my Aunti/MiL and my Lovely Cousin. Ice creams had been consumed by this point and we were ready to head home.

Re: A Grand Day out.

Thoroughly enjoyable series, Fruitcake. Thank you for taking us along on your field trip.

Oh, that cygnet is precious. Is there really anything more endearing than seeing a mother of anything taking care of its little one?

Beautiful countryside.

Re: A Grand Day out.

We are lucky that although we live on the edge of a busy town, we can be in the countryside within five minutes.
This will be our first year without a major holiday so we are trying to make the most of things with days out.
Hopefully there will be more piccy threads to come.

Thanks for looking.
