Re: Spitfires Poems

Words and numbers
They are great
They anger, please
And irritate
They can and do
In an attempt to placate
Cause the recipient
To get Irate

Re: Spitfires Poems

I once went dwile flonking
The booze it was stonking
We all left pub drunk
How low had we sunk
I can’t say I prefer it to bonking

Dwile Flonking is an old country game whereby the men dance round a volunteer and when they stop, the man in the middle has to flonk (throw) to the holder of the dwile a beer soaked rag & is, then awarded points according to the part of the body the dwile hits. Missing complexly the vounteer has to pay a forfeit.

To flonk a volunteer
Seems quite queer
And maybe quite disturbing
The flonker seems to hold the aces
The agenda setter….
I bet he hails from Worthing
The poor volunteer
Who has no control
Of his destiny, or verging
Should get ragged off
And suck the cloth
And intoxicated
Act conserding

Re: Spitfires Poems

I went for a walk, in the countryside
To see what nature had to offer
I saw some hedgerows, and a ditch
Apparently dug by Offa
I saw fields, neatly arranged
And symmetry of such a Grand
Then all at once I realised
The whole lot was made by Man.

Re: Spitfires Poems

For me a rhyme comes from nowhere
There is no time to stew
Off the cuff, improvised
The only way to make it new
If you have to think or deliberate
Is it really you
Don't regard
Prove your hard
Come on let's have a go.

Re: Spitfires Poems

I am stiff , I am weary. my world closes in
I remember once being full of life -and thin
when did it happen-my body ending up this way
the moment when it gave up was long before today.

still, every day that passes is a joy to be alive
even though the image is poorly from outside
inside my mind is still intact
downhearted, never, that’s a fact

Spitfire, I never considered Obesity to be a crime against the self (Your comment on cctv refers) BUt it's true.
