I wandered lonely as a cloud
Bumpin into this an that .....
I wondered why, then looked on high
And realised twas me bloomin hat.

Way down over me ears it was,
Shading me eyes from view .....
What a fool I am as I stood on me cat,
As the wind took me hat and blew.....far - far away ....

Yes some very nice poems there folks.

"Poetry is one of those art forms where you only get out of it what the composer puts into it" said the great Chinese philosopher Fu Ling Yew and I agree with him, only in my little effort people may get more out of it then I put in, maybe even get drunk. I have heard so many versions of this over the years, that I have decided to pen my own and call it "The Miserable Gits Poem"

Abracadabra won't open my heart,
you'll need a special key.
Wondering where to start?
buy me a pint and you'll see.

Short and blunt it may be, and lacking any melodious tones, but it has substance and gets straight to the point, who knows it could become the anthem for all the moochers in all the bars all over the World.
