Ocular Migrain

I experienced my first Ocular Migraine today.
It was a very weird and frightening experience.
Has anyone here ever experienced one, or suffer from them?

Re: Ocular Migrain

Is that where you see a jagged effect in your peripheral vision??? I so I experience it occasionally, when I asked my optician about she said it is a type of migraine and not to worry about it. I get it now and then but it doesn't bother me.

I used to - but not (touched wood fast) had one for sometime. Mine manifests itself with split vision and projectile nosebleeds!

Deleted.

Sorry, I had asked you what that condition is, but I have just googled it. Must have been awful.
Hope you feel better soon.

How do you know that it is an Ocular migraine? Have you seen a doctor?

I wondered that too. Self diagnosis can be a dangerous thing.

Re: Ocular Migrain

Thank-you all for your posts.
It was diagnosed at the hospital, whilst I was there with my son. But I could not stay at the eye department, as I needed to sort my boy out.
So I came home, and I suppose I will have to make an appointment.
It was like the sun was blinding just part of one eye.
I had to lay down for a while this afternoon. But no more weird stuff so far.

You're very fortunate to be given a diagnosis within hours of the occurrence. Do you know what triggered it?
