Cataract operation

Well, I'm off for my cataract operation this morning. The appointment is at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital at 12 noon, although the operation could be at any time thereafter.

The MIL had hers done quite some time ago and assures me that it is painless and she's had no problems since. I hope she hasn't put an evil spell on me (she's a witch, you know).

Re: Cataract operation

I’m sure everything will go alright JBR.

My Aunt had her cataract operation a few years ago at the age of 92. She said she didn’t feel a thing and it was the best thing she had ever done.

I have the start of a cataract in my left eye and can’t wait for them to say I can have it removed.

Good luck today!

Hi JB when my Dad had his cataract operation he said he 'felt like a new man'.

Wishing you well...

Good luck JBR! I don't imagine it well be a good experience, but on the bright side, you will be delighted when your eyes are better.

Thank you all for your assurances.

I'll 'see' how things go and let you know. I'm still a little apprehensive, though!

That’s only natural to feel like that JB, I suppose it’s like going into the unknown. Nothing is ever as bad as you imagine and it is soon over.

Re: Cataract operation

Hope all goes well JB, Mrs Fox had hers done last year and after having to wear glasses all of her life (shortsighted) can now see without them. She does still wear them though, it's just not Mrs Fox without them.....

Re: Cataract operation

Good luck JBR, they say it's a very successful operation and virtually pain free, hope it all goes well for you.
