Man bitten by snake

Wasn't sure whether this should go in Animals/Health/General?

Did anyone hear on this morning's news about the Texas man who got bitten by a decapitated Rattlesnake?
He's had to have 26 doses of anti-venom in hospital.

I never knew that was possible.
Apparently the head can still bite up to 2 hrs after the snake is dead!

He always is. He is used to it by now.

Dongles, I have heard that wasps can still sting after their death, but I am amazed at that snake bite.
It must have been really bad, because I saw of the doctors say most people need between 2-4 doses of the anti-venom, but this man had to have 26!
