Re: English Strawberries

I have bought 3 or 4 punnets of English strawberries in Sainsbury's this years but I haven't been impressed with the taste of them at all .... they are not like they used to be. I was beginning to wonder if the reason could have been my taste buds had changed

Yes, I think our taste buds change. Funny isn't it?

I always eat them just as they are, without cream or ice-cream. No different with the ones I had this week. I really didn't enjoy the sensation of them in my mouth TBH, even tho they were juicy and tasty.

I think I've had my day as regards strawberries.

Re: English Strawberries

Mmmmmm ! I bought some from the local green grocers the other day. Scottish strawberries. Delicious , large , sweet juicy ,and half the price of the supermarket.

Always nice to pop one or two in a glass of bubbly, but I prefer mine with ice cream now.as cream gives me heart burn these days. ( Why are all the small pleasures eventually stripped away ? )

Strangely enough a patch of wild strawberries has appeared in my garden. Last year I had one or two - this year there are loads. Quite tiny - but delicious. Think the birds must have brought them for me.

Re: English Strawberries

I had a gastroscopy this morning in a lovely, new, small hospital, everything was normal. Yay!
The best thing was I had to only eat soft, cool food for the rest of the day.
I do like living here!

So glad everything was alright.
