where do i start ??

can anyone give me some info ---hubby just had major heart surgery at papworth hospital ..iam not driving at the moment and family is all away hes about a hour and 10 mins from where we live ' and now iam getting a little worried is how do I get him home -living in the rural parts dont help much for transport ' can I arrange a hospital lift for him ...any information on this would be so helpful …..

Ask the hospital, if he could go home in ambulance,it's worth a try.

Yes, you are entitled to Hospital Transport, the Ward Nurses can arrange it.

It is the squashed frog syndrome, he is not safe in a seat belt.

Normally occupational health will have a conversation with you before he is discharged to check on your home situation, and they can help in many ways including arranging for transport where necessary.

My Mum had major heart surgery a few years ago and she was taken home by ambulance, even though my Dad drives. Don't give up until you get what you want.

Maddy I am sure they will arrange suitable transport to get him home. I hope he continues to improve when he gets home too.

Maddy, I would think your husband would be almost certainly qualify for transport home.
