God it was BORING last night !
The most long winded wedding night ever .
The bride and slurping so much booze I'm surprised either of them could do anything .

It's OK, no spoilers.

Earlier in the thread there were some concerns as to whether the TV series is the same as the books. I have never read the books so I wouldn't know.

Having now watched seasons 1&2 on DVD, I'm now watching all the extra material. There are some really interesting bits on how and why things were changed for TV. The TV episodes are not written by the original author (a few were) but by separate script writers.

Like a lot of people I was always disappointed when a film was different to the book but having watched this, it really does explain why things have to be changed and how it doesn't work if they stick to the book rigidly. Chapters are constantly moved around so that there are definite beginnings and endings to episodes.

What also amazed me was the amount of effort into getting things just right such as clothing, décor, language and just about everything you see. Half of the props specially made for the programme are not even seen or are out of focus. The detail is just mind blowing.
