Re: How do I use whatapp?
Hi Muddy, I don't know if your question has already been answered, but perhaps this helps:
WhatsApp originally came into play as an alternative to texting (SMS) because smartphones had internet connections and people were already paying for that service, meaning that you could skip the texting fees.
Once installed it will get the contacts from your phone and add these to the app. Anyone who has WhatsApp already will show in this list, you can invite others by asking them to install WhatsApp as well.
To send a message you can press the green button in the lower right corner. Pick a contact by pressing on the person and the chat window will open. Now you can press the white bar below with the blinking cursor. A window will open where you can start writing your text. Afterwards you can press on the lower right button (in android) to "enter" the message into the chat.
Once done, your message will be in the screen and you can go back to the main screen if you want to. You will see your chats here (note the menu bar at the top which shows where you are in the app) and it will include the chat which you just made. Now you can just press on that person in this screen to reply to messages they send.
That can take a while of course, so you can shut down WhatsApp without a problem. It will be running in the background in case you get a message. When you do, your phone will make a sound and/or vibrate, depending on what your settings are for your mobile phone.
If you have any other questions let me know!
