Hi

I don't get all this macho stuff.

We pay what we have legally signed up, not a penny more.

If we do not, we will have defaulted on International, legally binding agreements.

Our existing borrowing costs will go the roof, and getting new credit will be near impossible.

Getting new trade deals will be a nonstarter, nobody signs deals with a country which defaults on agreements.

It is not a matter of being scared, it is a matter of being sensible.

That doesn't seem to have bothered the Americans and the Chinese. Both of them and other nations seem to be very happy to discuss trade agreements with us already.

Moreover, it cannot have gone unnoticed by other independent nations that the EU are issuing threats and demands that any sensible person would want to walk away from their corrupt organisation without being frightened into paying them blackmail money.

Incidentally, isn't it the Frogs who are trying to be macho?

Like they were in the 1940s!

Which is nothing from the day we leave according to the EU's own documentation?

Hi

Not sure that I agree with that much bandied about statement.

There is an explanation here.

https://www.instituteforgovernment.o...u-divorce-bill

My preference, as I have said, is to go to Court on it, that way we take the Politics out of it.

The two courts mentioned are those which will have jurisdiction when we leave, for any international trade disputes.

Never understood the English antagonism toward the French (unless it is pure jealousy).

They have a language in which even the weather forecast sounds sexy, they have a more successful military history, they have a very beautiful country and the metric system. What's not to like?
