Free Movement to end March 2019.

Hi

A Government Minister has announced Free Movement will end in March 2019.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40734504

I find this strange, as we have only just commissioned the survey and his statements are totally at odds with those of his boss, Amber Rudd.

I will be absolutely fascinated as to how this plays out.

Once the survey is completed, they have to get the new Immigration Bill it requires through Parliament, design and commission a new computer system for EU work visas and get the staff and facilities in place , all within 6 months.

I wish them well.

This survey should have been done long ago, before the referendum so voters could see the real story.

It should have been done before we agreed to free movement. We seemed to manage before I can't see that we've changed so much since. Certainly I know many young people want jobs in coffee shops etc but at the moment they can't get them.

If true, then it is a step in the right direction.

As an independent nation (should that ever come about) we have the right to refuse admission to anyone we want.

As I have said before, we should admit only those people who we consider to be a benefit to our country.

At the same time, we should expel anyone who is here illegally, and stop making excuses to turn a blind eye.

Hi

We signed up for it in 1992.

Blair did not adopt the powers to restrict for a number of years when the EU was greatly enlarged, other EU Countries did..

Blair later admitted that it was a mistake.

We have had 25 years of it, so difficult to change as our economy is now so dependant on it.

We cannot suddenly stop it, we have severe skills shortages in some areas.

Things like nursing, HGV Drivers.

Stop charging to train them, stick the money in and make sure we have enough .

It simply cannot be right to say no to 80,000 of our own who wished to train as nurses.

It is absolutely stupid to not train our own HGV Drivers and import Eastern European Drivers instead.

I'd suggest we make it free to study to be many of our most needed professions. It seems wrong to charge a nurse for instance when they are required to work as nurses while studying whereas others can work and study so they can pay their way through university.
