Anyone on Quinine?

I have been contacted by my gp who has asked me to have a two week break from Quinine which I take for cramp supplied by the surgery. I have been given a leaflet of suggestions for self help without this medicine. Exercises and being the drinking more water being the biggest thing.
The side effects are as follows.
Tinnitus. Headaches. Nausea. Disturbed vision. Confusion.
Hot flushes.
The leaflet was by the NHS Dorset Clinic Commissioning Group.

Me too. I drink it when I'm doing anything strenuous and it keeps the cramps away. I would not take the tablets though.

My husband came off the tablets onto tonic water about three months ago, it's working well still so gp was right there is enough in the drink to keep the cramps away.

The only thing I don't do is drink it before going to bed as it seems to cause restless legs.

Isn't it odd how things work differently in people's bodies, it's stopped my husbands restless legs, and cramp.

Mind he's sleep walking again ! But I'm not sure it's the drink doing that he's had bouts of it over the years that coincide with stress.

These symptoms are readily experienced by a wide range of ailments including EMF sensitivity and mercury amalgam poisoning from tooth fillings.

As an experiment that could help you going forward, I would remove gluten from your diet for a couple of weeks. This has helped others with painful cramps and arthritis type pains.
