We are only starting to publish our Brexit Policy Documents this week.

We will know where we are when they are published.

My personal view is that the UK is nowhere near ready and that we will have to ask the EU for a transition period of at least two years and that they will skin us for that.

Then IMO we need to cut our loses and just jump. We will sink or swim depending how hard we all work. Time to see how we can work together.

There is no point in the labour party trying to work out the cost of Brexit either. They don't stay in the shadow cabinet long enough before their leader kicks them out. They can't even work out policemans pay for a year, so what chance do they have with larger sums to deal with.

That's a sure road to disaster. You need accountability for any venture to work. We are missing accountability at the moment. It's a bit like someone jumping with the thought that the people below will catch them. But when they jump everyone just moves out of the way because nobody sees themselves as responsible.

The government is holding off publishing anything because the minute anything goes live to the press numerous individuals and organisations will act on it. If it doesn't suit they will make plans to leave the UK. We need confirmation of a reasonable transition period so that this does not leave our economy in dire straits.

One thing is for sure, nothing in this country ever happens overnight. Look how long it takes to sort out something like HS2 or Hinckley. Why on earth do we think something as complex as Brexit can happen in two years if we take 20 years to put in a train line?
