Craig and Bond

Daniel Craig has apparently confirmed he will make another Bond film. Or has he? Every time he makes one, he slags it off and says he will never do another only to change his mind again.

Who cares? This is becoming tiresome.

Re: Craig and Bond

I have to say I do not really like the Bond films. The books are so much more exciting because Bond actually uses his intelligence to extricate himself from situations - not just a lot of stupid OTT gadgetry. Also he shows a vulnerability which is missing from the films.

I have all of the the original Ian Fleming stories - unabridged - on audio books and love to listen while I am crafting. The Bond stories written by other people - Kingsley Amis, Raymond Benson et al - pale into insignificence by comparison.

"From Russia with love" and "Dr No" are the only films which make some attempt to stick to the stories - the rest are just not worth watching.

Re: Craig and Bond

They said on the radio this morning that he would be doing this one last bond film which will be out in 2019.

and the comment he made after the last bond film saying he would not make another one was a very silly thing to say or words to that effect.

Yes it was silly, I agree, talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
And disrespectful to all his fans.

I'm not a Bond fan my any manner of means, but I absolutely love Skyfall.

He said he 'would rather slit his wrists' than make another.

To give him credit though, he did admit that was a stupid thing to say.

Re: Craig and Bond

Daniel Craig has definitely said 'yes' to another Bond outing on The Late Show last night, so that's settled that conundrum.

He said he's not doing it for the money. Oh, so he's not being paid then?!

Anyways, he's a fine actor and an excellent 007, so it's good news

I thought Casino Royale was excellent and have seen it many times but I wasn't too keen on the others tbh.

I agree, but I thought Skyfall was a return to form.
Still, Craig was good regardless despite the rather average script of the films.

I agree, I think the scripts were the problem.

I believe Idris Elba is lined up as a possibility for the next one.
