Birds Body clocks?

I have a nest box just beside my window. For the last few years although the box has not been used for breeding, it is always used in winter as a blue tit night roost. For the last few weeks I see a blue tit fly in at 4.10 every afternoon (it has just arrived). No matter what the weather, that is roosting time.

The same goes for the feeding stations, busy first thing, then nothing until lunchtime when finches etc arrive en masse fighting for feeding slots.

They must have a body clock, the same as we humans.

Ive noticed my birds mostly feed in a morning , ive had a couple of Sparrows look inside my Robin Box but not stayed..

The Starlings are starting to collect together now ,a swarm of them in the Hundreds have just flown over , I think they would also go by the time of Dusk ..

Now, this time of year, we get flocks of Long Tailed Tits flying through the gardens, stopping at bird tables & feeders. Parties of 10 or more, all calling to each other to stay in touch. They are such sweet birds.

Certainly do have body clocks, often amazes me seeing loads of waders arriving on the tides to feed along beaches, event though the tides change, they always arrive at the right slot.

Long tailed tits are my favourite birds Tiffany. So pretty and sweet and sociable. It's just a pity they don't stay longer at our feeders. It's usually a quick feed then "we're off" en masse. In fact they aren't coming at all to my garden suet block these days, which has always been the long tailed's favourite

I like them too, Goldcrest. They never do stay long though. Except these.

Lovely pic Tiffany. I need to try something new to attract them. What art you feeding them?

The LTT's in my photo were eating Tesco cheapy scones, around 50p a pack of 8, but they also like any type of fat, be it balls, fat logs or pellets.

I think I'll try them on the scones! The fat doesn't seem to be attracting them.
I seem to be getting fewer birds at my feeders, despite the weather turning much colder. Can't understand it
