Re: 10 of my favorites

I'm so glad you chose the original Moulin Rouge, Bakerman - it's a wonderfully poignant film, and really brings the era to life - must have been hell on Ferrer's knees though!

Some of mine:

A Man For All Seasons
Henry V - with Branagh
Shawshank (of course)
Death in Venice - Dirk Bogarde
Calamity Jane
An Inspector Calls - any version
Young Frankenstein - Gene Wilder
Big - Ton Hanks
Any original Disney cartoons
Ghost

Dear Susie,
Dirty Dancing was a favorite of both my wife and I but now I can't watch it since she passed. I don't know why but I just get too sad. Great music and fantastic dancers though.

Re: 10 of my favorites

Okay, strap yourselves in and here goes......Again in no particular order.....

(1) Local Hero

(2) Titanic with Kate Winslet.

(3) Tombstone with Val Kilmer & Kurt Russell.

(4) Gladiator

(5) Anything with Tom Hanks in....

(6) A Few Good Men with Tom Cruise.

(7) The Swimmer with Burt Lancaster

(8) Jaws

(9) Roadhouse with Patrick Swayzee.

(10) The Champ with John Voight.

Although I notice that there is a good mix of older films with new Films in most peoples selections but I could publish a list of just 'New Films' e.g. Passengers or The Reader made in the last twenty years, and also a list of old films e.g. Zulu, Laurence of Arabia and Doctor Zivago......Old standards. Very difficult to compare as they seem so different, a bit like Beethoven and the Beatles.
