It's vertical, around 3 inches, and is to the left of the right hand back pocket...not the sort of place I'd expect a rip or any wear and tear - it's like as if someone had deliberately cut them this way.

Of course, I can still wear them in the house but it's annoying as they are amongst my favourite jeans, my only grey pair and I can't wear them outside any more (unless I want to expose my boxers to people).

Has anyone else had any such clothing anomalies? I'm annoyed as they match the rest of my clothes and I don't really want to buy a new pair (these were quite dear, I can remember paying full retail for them). But I think I might have to visit TK Maxx soon.
Yes! I have two pairs of jeans now relegated to gardening or painting........and both have frayed then worn through in exactly the same place. I'll get them out and check exactly where the tears are to confirm!

I agree. That's the first thing I thought of as well, Purwell.

Can't you just repair them, or get them professionally repaired if you like them that much Ffosse?

Surely with a jumper over the mend it wouldn't be so bad?

No, the tear is too big to be fixed, really, and I don't have any grey denim to form a patch or I would.

I'm not sure, but there may now be a counselling service for distressed jeans.

Re: Strange rip on my jeans...

Clothing anomaly that actually made me decide to make my own clothes was years ago a skirt that grew longer on one side, the shop asked were both sides washed together I was stood there wondering who unpicked their clothes to wash the panels separately

I didn't want to pay £85 for a pair in John Lewis...I'm back home now but will go out to TK Maxx shortly and see what they have.
