Santa Claus is no longer

To be so called in National Trust property , an email went round telling staff it has to be Father Christmas because its more English ,
So what name did You use for the man in red that brought the presents down the Chimney ?
Do you think it matters ?

I am of the opinion that both of these myths should be dumped altogether.

Father Christmas!

Yes we should stick to FC...as this says:

'Santa is more commonly used in the US as a term for the Saint Nicholas figure — or Sinterklaas in Dutch'.

We've got enough Americanisms over 'ere without removing our dear old 'Father Christmas'

(No offence to our beloved OFFers from over the pond)
