Ah... A Mk.I Setright ticket machine by the look of it. I collect these things. See profile. (sad or what?). Memories of days long gone. The engineering that went into the manufacture of these machines was amazing. Most machines were converted to decimal money. The original £.s.d. ones are pretty rare now. Any chance of a close-up pic of the ticket you got Myrtle ?

Hi Mike ... what a fantastic thing to collect ... I'm so pleased I took this photograph ... I had my 9 year old granddaughter with me and she is interested in anything and everything and she keeps all the train/bus tickets when we go on our "adventures"

I'll be looking after her on Tuesday so I'll take a pic then and post it on here

We only got on the train by the skin of our teeth so I had to pay onboard ... she was disappointed as I only got a paper ticket so when we got off the train I went to the ticket office and explained that my granddaughter liked to have a "real" ticket so the man very kindly issued an under 5 free ticket for her to keep ... more Brownie points for Nanna
