Urgh! Anything but spiders! We've got ones that jump!

I've worn gloves for gardening since we moved here 12 years ago, the soil was full of pieces of broken glass and I still occasionally find pieces now .

I always wear gloves when gardening, even putting compost into the tubs or pots.

That doesn't surprise me Jess. You've shown that it helps to take care of your hands. You have lovely hands and nails. Mines are like wrinkled up prunes

Thanks Myra I had my nails done yesterday. Start putting handcream on it helps to keep your nails in good condition.

Yes, I always wear gloves at the allotment. We have cats wandering about, and foxes too. And there are squirrels and other pesky pests scrabbling about in the soil so you never know what's there.

It always makes me squirm when I see people handling horse manure with bare hands!! Eeeeeeeek.

And yes, we have all kinds of debris in the soil so you never know what your fingers would come across.

I found one of my seedlings (in a peat pot) that was lying on top of the bed. So something had been having a dig.
