Hairy Caterpillar

I found this hairy caterpillar in a bag of chives that we were given. It looks like a 'Brown tail moth' caterpillar which is a nasty beast as it can cause a rash. So, can anyone give me a better ID on this hairy beastie?

I haven't seen one of those for years George, don't know what they're called. I believe its the hairs that can irritate our skin isn't it?

According to them its a Tiger Moth caterpillar.

We used to get these in Hampshire, but Aberdeenshire is a bit far north for them. It could be something quite innocent, but I can't find a good ID on the web.
