Chinese New Year
Had lunch with friends in a lovely Chinese restaurant today.Apparently Chinese new year will be on 28th January - kind of them to celebrate it on my birthday! It will be the year of the Red Fire Chicken/Rooster and, although the restaurant will be closed to the public for three days, when they open again on 31st there will be Lion Dancing and all sorts of lovely things going on.
The waitress let me take a few photos of the lovely Lion head they will be using. It looks quite heavy but is surprising lightweight. Inside there are small levers that make the eyes and mouth open and close.
Isn't he gorgeous?
