The Corrie boss says " We wanted to look at homophobia in sport, so that will be a component of the story, but we also wanted to look at a modern story about a young gay man."

I'm fed up with the script already!
What is the matter with all these soaps nowadays.
I've lost count, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are now more homosexuals than normal characters.

The next step, I expect, will be a change of name from Coronation Street to Queer Street.

I'm getting pretty fed up with it rammed down our throats all the while now, JBR.

Why do they have to get so political and controversial these days!

I suppose that one possibility lies with the fact that there is a great preponderance of homosexuals in the television (and theatre) industry.

Perhaps they're trying to either publicise their proclivities or even convert more people to their 'way of thinking'!

Re: Coronation Street

Wasn't that gardening fiasco pathetic with the beans? They can't even seem to get the so-called humorous bits right any more.

Does anyone else want to give Gemma a good slap and tell her she isn't 12?

As for all the homosexuals ..... enough already, we get it. Everyone loves gays and lesbians, small close knit streets are full of them, nobody is allowed to dislike them and oh yes, let's allow them to snog at every opportunity..

Re: Coronation Street

The Factory Roof issue has become a sort of mini Hillsborough, global outsourcing, capitalistic/socialistic, love/hate melting pot.

The ONLY reason I've looking forward to this family is the mother, who played Mrs Tembe in Doctors. I love that show and loved this actress's character. She even has her own FB groups!

Re: Coronation Street

I was wondering how long it would be before they replaced Luke as the only proper black person in the street.

So in such a small community we've got Three gay blokes, Two lesbians (Kate and Sophie) should've been three....A disabled person, a person with Downs syndrome, an assortment of Muslims, some alcoholics, quite a few ex cons, a couple of ginger people, a vicar, a rude old person with a dog (that looks like it could do with a good meal) a gangster and an anorak who loves trains.....Have I left anybody out? Oh! and Nick a devious conniving waste of space who steals money off his grandma.....And don't get me started on Michelle....
Who fixed the factory roof to fall down? I hope it was Nick...

Re: Coronation Street

The new family are moving into number 3, Emily and Norris's old home and will appear in early June.

Producer has said, Norris is not leaving show and Emily can return anytime.
