Man made Life Forms.

So mankind now has the ability to play God by inventing new life forms. Is this the start of a brave new world or a nightmare scenario ?

Just hope they know what they are doing but there is always the unforseen. You can't stop these scientists once they get a grip on something like this; trouble is they plough on regardless. Just takes one twisted genius to create something horrible once the techique becomes known, and there is always one waiting in the wings somewhere or other.

Now that they have a new toy to play with anything is possible I suppose. As long as they dont start using it in the Guinness it wont effect me.

I love science.

I just wish there was a principle higher than that of making money.

I think it sounds very exciting and offers the prospect of new cures for some medical conditions and we certainly need them as more and more infections become resistant to our current antibiotics.

I don't know Alan, its a bit scary in a way I think.
My thoughts are it will depend on how they intend to use the knowledge, what they will do with it, as to whether it turns out a good thing or bad.
