They are wanting to come back so that they can then claim they will not have a fair trial and thus escape scot free.

If they were being held in Syria, and for the alleged crimes, I find it hard to believe that they have been allowed to speak to the press . If the lower picture was taken of them at the interview, then they are not living in a run down cell, so who's keeping them in comfort ? Could it be fake news ?
Thousands of ISIS fighters and terrorists are being escorted in convoys out of the terrorist zones at the moment, and I wonder where they are all going to, as this is only happening through deals being done and mostly between them and the Russian. So what the deals involve is any bodies guess.

They were captured by the Kurds and handed over to the Americans.
