So why are you all.

So Grumpy.

Britain's older generation are the wealthiest and happiest EVER... in contradiction to the perception that over 65s become lonely

They are also feel lees anxious and are less likely to suffer mental ill health
Those who work past the usual retirement age are also happier in their jobs
Office for National Statistics findings come from efforts to chart our happiness
Almost all retired households enjoy disposable incomes of £10,000-plus a year.

Do they maybe if you are a couple but not single people.

I am not 'grumpy' but very content with my new found freedom from commitment and work

I think I would be less grumpy with more money, I think owning your own home makes you more content too, wish I did!

Re: So why are you all.

Is disposable income of £10,000p.a. after tax only or does it mean disposable income after all the bills have been paid - i.e. money in your pocket to do whatever you want with. I am never sure.

I don't think I am grumpy, but sometimes I get cross with myself when I get tired after doing something I know I am not really capable of anymore. For example I used to like to clean the whole house from top to toe in one day - but not anymore. I also find decorating a struggle. It worries me sometimes (and makes me grumpy) that pretty soon we will have to pay someone to do it for us. Then my OH will get grumpy as he never thinks anyone can do as good a job as he can, but at 80 he really finds labour intensive jobs hard going.
