They seem to choose any one of the several names they are given. That's probably why they are given so many names, to give them plenty of choice.

I the unfortunate event that the Queen doesn't outlive Charlie Boy, he could choose any of Charles, Philip, Arthur or George. So that could be:

Charles III*
Philip II*
Arthur (I)
George VII

Although these* were Kings of only England and not Britain, so I don't know whether those would be given such a regnal number. They probably would, though, because Lizzie took the name Elizabeth II as her earlier namesake was Queen of England.

Wow I was right, Louis Arthur Charles. I guessed he might be called Louis after Mountbatten .
