Re: Oh Dear!!! - Brexit not going so well

Hmm that's sounds positive if we can get him out of the way. Personalities can make a huge difference to deals I always think. It isn't us they dislike but him. Can't blame them really.

Don't worry Julie, regardless of the personalities all countries want to trade and will continue to do so. Unless their political leaders are exceptionally stupid they wouldn't want to ignore a nation of 70 million consumers....

Hi

Of course they want to trade Barry, they are happy to trade on WTO terms, trade deals have to suit both partners.

It is true Barry that everybody and his dog wants to sell you stuff but trade deals are a two way street, you want to be able to sell stuff too.

What have we to sell? Thatcher destroyed our engineering industry.

I think this is where the low cost, low wage economy kicks in, it attracts overseas businesses to set up industries which take advantage of the low wages and hence cheap labour costs.

No idea if it will work but the devaluation of the pound is just the start in theory but Britain still has a long way to go if it wants to follow this route.

Don't worry, as if by magic a manufacturing sector will appear overnight. This will be fully staffed by our wonderful young people who will be happy to work all hours on a low wage in order to help our economy post-brexit.

Because of the "special relationship", the Don will be happy to accept all our surplus manufactured products at highly inflated prices.

They will also cancel HS2 (I'm not making this up - honest!)

They will have to re-open the pits and revive the iron and steel industry as well, because we won't be able to afford to buy any from abroad once the price rises.

That is down to the incompetence of Liam Fox, not action by the EU.
We are not permitted to formally negotiate any Trade deals with any country for the two years after Article 50 was invoked.

All we can do is agree with countries that starting trade deal talks once we have left is desirable.

Any Brexiteer or Remoaner that says otherwise is lying to you.
Anyone , Brexiteer or Remoaner , who condemns the Govt for not signing off Trade Deals in this period is being at best disingenuous, probably ignorant, possibly lying.
