I seem to recall on one of the older ones I had, there was a small button/switch on either the side or top, could it be that one to reset it? I think it was very close to the volume button.

Yes they say untick the option or reboot it unticking is the problem it won't do that and I've rebooted several times. Hence I wondered if anyone here being clever and gorgeous as they are might have a clue.

Phew! glad that's sorted Julie I know that happened to me years ago and I didn't realise that little button was there until my son told me .... it's so small and easy to accidentally move if you're accessing the volume. Thank goodness Apple has made the newer iPads simpler in that resect
