Peter Sallis is dead

I have just seen that Peter Sallis, who played Norman Clegg in, 'The Last of the Summer Wine', has died at the age of 96. He was a good actor.

That's very sad. He was the voice of Wallace in the Ardman "Wallace and Grommit" films too.

I don't see it as sad when someone has reached a good age. It is only sad when someone dies young, imo.

Peter had a long life and a good one - gainfully employed throughout his career, admired and respected by his colleagues. His wife, Elaine, died just last year but he leaves a son, Crispian, a famous art director (Aliens, Driving Miss Daisy and Gladiator).

I noticed with great sadness the passing of peter sallis .beloved as clegg in last of the summer wine.what a chemistry there was on screen between him and compo and foggy(bill Owen and Brian Wilde).still so funny to watch
