Andy Williams

Legendary singer Andy Williams has passed away after a year-long battle with bladder cancer. He was 84.

He was one of the most popular vocalists of the 1960s.

I remember him saying a while back that he had been diagnosed and he seemed really upbeat about his prospects.

Rest in peace Andy. I was never mad about his singing although I did like "Cant get used to losing you". For that kind of singing I preferred Johnny Mathis, he was much easier on my ears. Andy did a lot of duets with other famous singers and I remember the TV shows with his brothers.
Danny Williams, no relation, had a No.1 UK hit with "Moon River" at the end of 1961, I never knew that until I looked it up.

Can't get used to losing you, was a song I liked.
I'm sorry to hear of his death he appeared as a clean-cut man, with no scandals in his life.

Another icon lost, trouble is, there dosen't seem to be any new "rising" icons to replace them. RIP.

Unfortunately Jan there were a few. Something about a shooting in Aspen, if I remember right. Need to check it out. Anyway, he who is without sin etc. Very smooth singer, should charm the angels no doubt.
