Top of The Pops

Im just watching this on BBC 4, from 1977

I was 13 back then

Rod Stewart, Stylistics , Heatwave, Baccara, Heatwave, Elvis, The Jam. The Jackson, The Stranglers, Brotherhood of Man

Brings back so many memories as it was Jubilee year and we can all remember what was happening in our lives then

One thing that doesn't change when watching TOTPs through the generations is parents saying " thats not music - thats just noise "

I loved the 70's, so carefree even with the strife that was all around us

Sorry just reminiscing

Why Missy ...you're but a young juvenile ... I'm an older 62 model.

I remember Jubilee year well, fond memories ... doing the paper round and dropping in the offie after to get some fags for a quiet smoke after my labours. Them paper bags were heavy!

For some reason when I think of the Top of The Pops I always think of Gilbert O'Sullivan and Leo Sayer. I used to love that programme.

Ooh that's made me think of that creepy Jimmy Saville too.

I thought of him too but couldn't remember how to spell Saville so didn't mention him.

I like watching the 60s.

I love watching how they danced on TOPs, so funny.

Re: Top of The Pops

That so called singing live bit caused a few problems for some of those early singers. Some never quite got the hang of timing their lips to the sound track with hilarious and often embarrassing results.

Better than the Goon show at times.
