ST, I am so sorry to read that you are suffering with your painful rib. It’s just a matter of time until you get better.
I also don’t like taking painkillers but l took half of one and that eased the pain.

I either bruised, or broke one of my ribs once whilst mowing the lawn. The pain was excruciating, l couldn’t turn, laugh or sneeze without the agony!
I was recovering well until a man, being nice, gave me a bear hug. I was back at square one!
