I usually buy Thorntons, a good Sheffield company. Although they have sold out to Ferrero Roche recently.

I buy chocolate that I like, and Cadbury's is not on my list.

It's nice that they are moving back to Britain, but unless they can change their recipe back to how it was I shall not be eating it.

So they have returned, at what cost? Millions spent in upgrading the production lines with the loss of some 400 Jobs...all for a bar of chocolate?

Only Cadbury product worth eating these days is their `Wholenut`. I much prefer Lidl's range of chocolate bars these days - the Belarom make ain't all that bad.

Yep Thorntons has seen a bot of a revival recently. It went through a lull some years ago.

I had a box of continentals not long ago which I hadn't had for many years. Was great to taste all those classics again. The Alpini, Hazelnut Slice etc

Also the nougat nests are really good. They did a special one over Christmas filled with dried fruits.

I am afraid you maybe right Rehab.
Although I thought at first yes great Cadburys returning up yours EU.
On hindsight it may well be costing the British taxpayer in the end.
It is all to common these days that our Governments (Both partys) whoever is in power at the time are allowing these privately owned company's millions in grants to upgrade or build these factorys. I just wonder after the TATA fiasco how much Mondelez have been given in grants and the like.
Reading between the lines I thing Cadburys maybe in the last chance saloon which is why they are moving back.
Sales have probably plummeted because people are buying their chocolate elsewhere and of course the obvious thing is that the chocolate they are making does not taste as good as it did.
To much competition about and they are making far better chocolate.

I don't think there is much of a market for it in mainland Europe. They prefer more rich and creamy recipes.

Twirls are my favourite. I hope this means they will be cheaper and that they stop pretending 11 single bars are a bargain when reduced vs 8 two finger bars.
I love a Twirl Annie.

Why are the chocolate bars a lot bigger and thicker on a cruise ship than we can get in our own shops here? Now there is something which should concern us all
