We support regimes with much worse human rights violations and do not even impose sanctions on them, we trade with them and sell them weapons.
Well said Swims...

Re: The EU and Russia.

Who has banned Jehovah's Witnesses?

Sorry if I've missed something, but I can't see this mentioned previously.

I've had a scurry online and it must be this in Reuters.
Russian court bans Jehovah's Witnesses as extremist

They're strictly Orthodox church aren't they?

Ah, thank you Morty. So it was the Russians.

Personally, I'd be happy if they banned ALL religions. Religion is just another source of disagreement and even killing.

I have nothing against people's rights to believe what they want, but is organised religion a good thing?

To say nothing of Saudi Arabia.

In fact, everything is banned in SA apart from the RoP, of course.

None uses the police as does Russia to quell dissent.

None rides into somewhere like Chechnya and swallows it whole.

and none is so power crazed that it threatens the Eastern flank of Europe.
And not many build a wall round their property (eg Berlin) & make it virtually impossible for their people to travel across any of their borders.

Although the Trump might be doing that right now!!

Not that I wouldn't do a wall around the UK if I could. Hadrian's wall is looking a bit tatty nowadays!
