Re: Will this make it easier to see GP?

We have to make a call-back 'appointment' .
Then you are slotted at a given time, same as an ordinary appt.

Well, I'm supposed to make a follow up appointment about my blood tests, it's really put me off.
I want to see the doctor, I'll never think of what I need to ask over the phone.

Jot it down as thoughts/questions come to you throughout the day, Tess.
If you're anything like me, you either forget, or get side-tracked otherwise.

I wonder if they will give prescriptions out without seeing you?
On the other hand, I can't remember the last time my doctor examined me.

Re: Will this make it easier to see GP?

I'm not sure of the new way they do things now we are now getting appointments for grace because we complained to the trust that she was missing important tests. They've stepped up and now see her when needed, they even gave me an appointment on Wednesday when I phoned for myself today which is amazing as they've said no for so long I nearly fell off my chair. So perhaps sadly the way forward is the one who shouts loudest will get an appointment.

My daughter's friend tested it out this morning. She phoned and told them she only gets a few hours off work on a Monday, could they arrange a call today?
The receptionist just said, "Goodbye" and hung up!!!
I think they may be getting some patient feedback!

That's rude and disgraceful behaviour Tess.

I don't think the receptionist understands the process somehow.

Unacceptable. Make an official written complaint to the Practice Manager. Make a note of the date and time of the telephone call so that the individual can be identified.

That will result in some arses being kicked, I assure you.
