It is incredible the show is still going all these years later. Our Down's Syndrome son featured in the Blue Peter Millennium Annual.

It's quite funny how he will always be remembered for 'Get down shep' although I'm not sure he ever actually said it. Would be great if that could be put on his head stone.

The John Noakes on Blue Peter was apparently acting the part, which he appeared to despise in reality.

I was amazed he was 83. I will always remember him as a young man in Blue Peter. He had a good innings RIP

Sad to hear he's passed away, loved blue peter as a kid,
John was the daredevil of the trio, I remember him jumping out of a plane a high altitude drop needing oxygen , he did a lot of stunts but years later he found out he was never insured by the bbc
