Re: My allotment

Never known it so dry...having to water my Onion sets.

If it stays like this the South could be on water restrictions next year.

Re: My allotment

You've reminded me, I'd better water what I planted a week or so ago! Forgetting we haven't had rain yet.

Been too busy digging.

Re: My allotment

As we are only allowed to burn around Nov the 5 because of all the moaning old farts who live along side of us.

We all had great bonfires Sat and the Fire Brigade was not called this year by the Moronic the scum

And we burnt a lot of rubbish as well that these moaning scumbag Morons had dumped on are Allotment in the past year.

Re: My allotment

Not done any thing as the frosts have been so heavy and long.

Will dig up my leeks when ground unfreezes and store in deep frezee

Will plant my peas and parsnips next month.

Dig trenches for my Potatoes and manure.

And prepare ground for beets and carrots.

Lettuces and Cucumbers have just been started off in cold frame as well as tomatoes but they are not doing well.

Will go tomorrow to put rest of potatoes in and pre ground ready for Carrots and Betts.

Think will go back to a lot of weeds and a lot of work

Good luck. I was working for 4 hours yesterday, repotting, sowing, planting. And today I hope to put in onions and potatoes.

I still have more digging to do: that can wait.

Re: My allotment

Start of March digging a trench for Potatoes ricked my back badly but planted a row.

In April back still bad could not do any digging use a garden hole cutter to plant the rest.

First row planted in March were well banked up and growing well but a heavy frost got them.

What I do is any Pototes that I missed digging from the year before I just let them grow and about this time of year dig them up and get new potatoes but they are a bit small.
