Re: Exhausted

Hi Julie!

My apologies for butting in, but, having looked at your symptoms (on here) I noticed some similarities to a recent diagnosis of my grand-daughter (21 year old).

After a long time of getting exhausted and being down in the dumps, she finally was found to be suffering from something called "Postural Tachycardic Syndrome (PoTS).

Not very prevalent but you might want to look at the symptoms here:-

Sorry, if I'm way off the mark!

Re: Exhausted

I went to the GP on Thursday and she says I'm a bit anaemic, recovering from cancer and chemo and surgery, what about that makes me think I should be running round like a spring chicken ? I think she had a point I've just got to pace myself more, take my iron tablets more regularly and stop trying to be superwoman.

Much like everyone here said.

I'm trying to be better, I'm certainly trying to sleep more and take my tablets.

Re: Exhausted

Julie, I was told that it takes six months to rid your body of the chemo treatment. So dont expect so much of yourself.

Val J, It took 2 years, for me, but here I am living a perfectly normal life after since 2013. There are some side effects, from Chemo, that you never get rid of. It destroyed my mucus membranes, in my nose, so I find sneezing occurs more often. It is only a trivial thing and you learn to live with it.... so don't worry

Same here Twink, with my nose, and still some residual kidney damage, neither of which affect my daily living.

I always think that there is no point worrying about the side effects of the treatment, because they are relatively small and, anyway, without that treatment many of us wouldn't still be here to worry about it.

Having had cancer, I always feel a bit privileged because they keep checking you for any further problems. People who have not had cancer have to check themselves!
That is why I always encourage people to check, no matter how well they feel.
