If you are anaemic Sarah the cause of that needs to be determined asap. The commonest cause is iron deficiency, which in this country is through blood loss ( in underdeveloped countries poor diet may play a part). The only way you can lose blood without being aware is through the bowel - small amounts over time. You likely need your digestive system scoping up and down. Prompt your doctor if there seems to be a delay. A scan may well be useful also. Do not go on a gluten free diet unless and until you are proven to be a coeliac. Doing so can confuse tests. There is no proven benefit from a gluten free diet for a non coeliac disease person. Above all good luck and hope all turns out ok.

Anyone can benefit from a gluten free diet because gluten is hard to digest. So it's worth trying it out to see if someone who has been having bloating feels better. The difference should be felt in a day or two.
