OCR Software for Windows 10

There are many applications to download but here's how to utilise Microsoft OneNote:

Its simplicity is what makes it unique; just insert the picture to OneNote, then right click on the picture and choose ‘Copy text from picture’ and OneNote will do the rest.

It saves the text to the clipboard, then you can paste the text into Microsoft Word or any other program of your choice.

However, it doesn’t support tables and columns.

Simple but effective .....

That sounded useful, so I tried it.

I can copy the picture into One Note, but when I right click it there is no option to 'copy text from picture'.

The OneNote App that comes with Windows 10 doesn't have that option. It needs to be the version that comes as part of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Ah, I see. Actually I do have it in my Office 2007 suite.

I tried it and, well, yes it worked...
after a fashion!

Re: OCR Software for Windows 10

Google do a free one, too - I tried that but it seemed to fiddly for what I wanted, which is a method to recreate lost document files using Scan/OCR .....
