People Who Refuse to Answer a Question

It's often said (some of you will be aware of this already) that politicians will often avoid answering questions, preferring to chat away in another direction even when pressed.

But it is interesting how many of the general public do exactly the same on radio phone ins. Every week Maajid Nawaz will ask several members of the public a question over and over again but they will steadfastly refuse to answer, until out of frustration, tedium and time constraints are then cut off.

Also, when putting up a thread on this site, when asking a question, you might get dozens of replies, but few will even try to answer the question asked. Not sure why that is, but some will have trouble focusing on what is being asked to be able to answer (even if they wanted to).

with the obvious exception of the eurocentric trolls, of course!

I've noticed here in particular many times folk don't understand that questions that they ask are ambiguous, also that the answers that they get they do not or chose not to understand.
