Re: Humber Super Snipes.

Welcome to the Forum Aussi. I rented a cottage on the farm of a friend who owned it. She came back one afternoon, driving a brand new Super Snipe. Her previous car was a wreck!

She took me a spin round the village, and it seemed like riding in a magic carpet.

Hi Dobra.
I can relate to your experiences. They were truly beautiful cars. Our family had several over the years. I think there were made locally here in Australia by Chyrsler factories possibly in Adelaide from shipped parts from the UK.They were very sturdy and reliable cars.

Beautiful cars. I always thought the front end looked a bit American.

Hi

I can remember them as a young lad.

I was well impressed with them.

Hey, I haven't always lived in WW. I've lived in Sydney and Perth. No #@^%ing Humbers there. Only Holdens and crappy Fords.
But I do remember the Humber mentioned in one of John Williamson's songs. Does that count?

BTW, Humbers should be all over woop woop rusting away.

Not just the front end - the Snipe was based on the Hawk which itself took its styling from the Chevrolet 55 sedan.
