fixing a bodge yet again

Just to say the idiot who had this place before was a fiddler, never did a job properly. Porch door catch and lock one size ,striker plate another. On top of that the striker plate was packed out with what looked like cardboard.
So i removed this plate then tidied up the original holes and repacked with timber and faced off with same. So now the catch works and when the wood glue has hardened I will cut a small recess for the lock to work

Even Sue had to admit it looked better that what was there. Ok just got to finish it tomorrow but all the cutting and fitting done. Bit of paint then should look even better. You can see where the catch used to hit the plate
